TIPS FOR THE BEST BURN
- KEEP WICKS TRIMMED TO 1/4 INCH OR LESS FOR A SLOW EVEN BURN.
- I double wick all my candles, this creates an even burn, however, as the candle burns down, having double wicks causes them to burn a bit fast. It is very important to keep wicks trimmed as small as possible!
- You know it's time to trim if wick "mushrooms" on top, melt pool is larger than 2 inches, or wicks are longer than 1/4 inch.
- Candles may pose a fire hazard if the candle is used improperly.
- It is best not to burn a candle longer than 2 hours.
- Never leave a burning candle unattended.
- Place on sturdy structure that has a heat-resistant surface away from any flammable sources or drafts.
- Keep burning candles out of the reach of children, pets or unsafe situation.
- Discontinue use when 1/2" of wax remains
- Be sure to remove any wick debris that has fallen into the candle.
- If, in the unlikely event that your candle is smoking, and you’ve already trimmed the wick to one-quarter inch, extinguish the candle immediately. Pinch or trim the wick just a bit more and the smoking will stop.
- Candles need oxygen. If you burn a candle in a small, confined area it will smoke. So consider the size of the room when you arrange your candles.
- A good burn pool is no more than a half inch deep. If the candle burns too quickly it can over heat the container which can cause damage to the surface the candle is sitting on or if it is glass it can shatter.
SOY WAX CANDLES
Soy wax is a vegetable wax made from the oil of soybeans. In addition to sustainability, a well-made soy candle will burn cleanly and slowly, which means less smoke is given off, much healthier than most other waxes on the market!
